Just trying to catch up on all the action so here's a dump on what we've been up to recently. No time to do individual posts for all of it so hopefully this will suffice. Let me know if you all have any questions.

Finally brought Barney the Canoe back from Central Oregon. He's coming in handy on a few canoe camping trips on the Willamette River.

Twister or Cross Over Falls, you decide. Columbia River Gorge, Eagle Creek Trail

Swale Canyon, SW Washington. Nice little mountain bike ride, but wouldn't do the Klickitat Canyon section again.

Rogue River Trail. Need to knock this one off the list one day. Beautiful country out there. Also need to arrange a multi day rafting trip as well.

Oh and if you didnt already know. This had been one hell of a year for the beargrass. 

Devil's Peak Lookout

Unexpectedly ran into friends who were staying at the lookout. Not a bad place to crash

Enid Lake, I think. Pioneer Bridle Trail / Cross Town Trail

Took advantage of the sweet shuttle system available in Sandy. Gotta love public transit buses that tow a trailer capable of holding at least 10+ bikes.

Nothing better than flying into the PNW on a clear day. Mt. St. Helens

Have to get up to run on Mt. St. Helen's at least once a year. Near Windy Pass.

Car bivy all to ourselves. 

Lava Canyon Trail. Probably the scariest suspension bridge I've been on in a while, maybe even ever.

The trail was awesome. Especially when there are 20ft sections of ladder that need to be negotiated and steep, exposed terrain. Highly recommended.

Road Tripping Gifford Pinchot National Forest

St. Helens, Rainier, Goat Rocks and Adams

I had been wanting to explore the Gifford Pinchot for some time. Lots of amazing trails, waterfalls and viewpoints hidden within this national forest is SW Washington. Tucked between Mt. St. Helen's and Mt. Adam, with the Indian Heaven Wilderness smack dab in the middle, this area doesn't get a lots of press. With that in mind, Kerrie and I setoff on a weekend road trip to learn what we could about this wild country so close to the Portland area.

Like most of my trips, started this adventure with a long run in the Trapper Creek Wilderness.

From this viewpoint, I could see all of the major volcanos in the area.

Love the old school Basil Clark signs. They really make the area unique since not many areas have custom signs. The only other area that I know has them are the trails around Wygant Peak. What's left of them away.

Wasn't expecting this waterfall. Always love when that happens.

Back in the car and heading towards the Lewis River Area. Lunch at an awesome little viewpoint.

Kerrie hates mosquitos so I thought it would be great to camp out at Big Mosquito Lake. Luckily the bugs weren't bad. It was the frogs that we had issues with.

Getting the dispersed camping thing down to a science. Gotta love the #hotelement

One of new favorite beers. Ultra Gnar Gnar by Basecamp Brewing. Great IPA, great name and great can. Well done my friends.

Hidden Lake, i think...

Where was this campsite last night? After bottoming out on a few fire roads looking for a viewpoint, we resigned to camp at Big Mosquito Lake. Only to find this pullout just down the road from Cultus Lake campground.

Met up with the family on Sunday for a little mother's day hiking.
