Olympic Peninsula + Juan De Fuca Trail

Kerrie and I are starting the goal of trying to see all the National Parks. While we've technically been too 4 already. This was our second one where we got an official picture.
Late posts are better than no posts. Over Memorial Day weekend, Kerrie and I headed out for our annual road trip. Our goal for this trip was to explore Olympic National Park and then jump over to Vancouver to explore Juan de Fuca Provincial Park. Hope you enjoy the photos.

Home sweet home in the #hotelement

Lake Quinault Lodge
The record for the area is 16 feet of rain in one year. Think about that for a little while

World's Largest Western Red Cedar

Kerrie is finally happy to get her Fairshare.
Ruby Beach
Fern Gully
Crescent Lake

Pretty primo campsite overlooking the lake.
Foil Bombs
Even Kerrie knows that whiskey and Harry Potter go very well together.
In line fore Ellie the Elements first international voyage.

Hiking the gnar.

Mystic Beach / Juan de Fuca trail
So many cairns.

Not at all impressed by the campground at China Beach. Gravel and enough room for 6 cars. Facilities were nice, but a little too established for me. Also our neighbors may have given us a bad taste as well.

Botanical beach
Dr. Seuss must have been inspired by the area.

The highest Ellie's been yet.
Sol Duc Falls
The Elwha runs free. Pretty amazing to see the results after the dams have been removed. Hopefully I'll be able to come back a few more times over the years to see how things change.
